1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Biking through the nearby town of Serinya with my husband and children is something I’ll never forget. The kids loved playing in the pool while I read in the shade of the giant fig tree, we all had a wonderful evening at the Lake of Banyoles, and visiting the medieval town of Besalu. But our delicious breakfasts and dinners at Hotel Mas Peligri were equally satisfying and happy occasions. It was the best holiday.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Gareth and Fiona are expert guides, take their advice and soak up their local knowledge. My kids advise get to know the host of outdoor cats, they already miss the sweet felines that roam the grounds. Stop at the Bypass in Serinya for some cold beers, they were kind to us and a great place to visit with some friendly locals who have lived there going back generations. Finally, it was super hot while we were there, and we took a siesta everyday during the hottest hours. Our evening bike rides were dreamy.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We definitely contributed to the local economy (frequented local businesses), the hotel maintained a lovely staff, and we appreciated the responsible waste management and cooling techniques. The dining room did feel quite warm at times, but our room always felt cool and comfortable. The building is designed to have cool cave-like nooks where you can always find relief from the beautiful (and strong) sunshine.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Five nights didn’t feel like enough. Stay as long as you can. Everyone there seems happy and kind, and we will remember this holiday fondly forevermore!Edward Weiner review 29 Mar 2025
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The three people we had meals with were really wonderful.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
It is really a great place if you want to up your game and challenge yourself. unfortunately, we had terrible weather and realized that we really needed E bikes, which were not available. That was no surprise and I was told this when we were booking the holiday.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
They’ve done amazing job with conservation and being sensitive to the environment.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We gave it three stars, but that was for our experience. When we moved down to Girona,we took Garret’s excellent advice and hired a guide for our three days of riding on ebikes, had perfect weather on those three days.Read the operator's response here:
Hi Edward, thanks for your feedback. Just to note, e-bikes are readily available here and can be booked for anyone. We have worked with many beginner cyclists over the years and have taught people in their 60s to ride a bike. We hope the free changes to your room and bikes helped you to have a good time despite the challenges! Thanks

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The peaceful setting with all the lovely cats and kittens that are being so kindly cared for. The lovely swimming pool and great cycling on and off road. Day in Barcelona, well worth doing and actually this works very easily using the direct bus. €20 euros return ticket.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
I would definitely suggest hiring a car as the hotel is quite a distance from places to go. There are bikes to hire, taxi and buses but this can work out more expensive than hiring a car for a week and not so convenient if you want to come home after eating dinner when dark in the evening. Meals at hotel quite pricey for what they are compared with other places we ate out at.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, encouraged to walk and bike, local riding school, restaurants recommended, encouraged to use towels economically etcLow key, simply but beautifully restored and renovated hotel building.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
A good week in a quiet location with activities if wanted. Lovely small hotel and pool, clean facilities and very friendly, helpful owners.Dorine van der Vloodt review 16 Aug 2015
