On our terms: Responsible tourism in the Maasai Mara

When we released our film on overtourism - Crowded Out - in the summer of 2018, we were asked for examples of how responsible tourism really CAN work to benefit local people AND the traveller. On Our Terms: Responsible Tourism in the Maasai Mara tells how a landowning Maasai community in Kenya have welcomed tourists onto their land, offering a beautiful place to stay; Maasai-guided walking and driving safaris; and a real insight into their culture and way of life. Narrated by Derrick Nbaala, a Maasai guide, this story shows how a community can use tourism to their benefit, whilst offering a unique and unforgettable experience for the tourist too.
