Responsible tourism: Rome to Venice cultural tour in Italy

We tend to promote destinations that undertake initiatives aimed at protecting and improving the natural environment, by visiting these destinations you will support the efforts of the local authorities to engage in environmental projects. For example Perugia has adopted an automated rail system with traction rope to facilitate travel within the city as part of a sustainable mobility project. Cervia, a small town on the Adriatic Coast, is characterized by large green areas, pine forests and parks, and a salt pan, a protected natural oasis of 827 hectares. You will realize how the municipality and local associations are committed to the preservation of an area with very important environmental features. The salt pan has become one of the most important observatories for the study and the census of migrations along the Adriatic Coast and its waters shelter the brine shrimps, a small, reddish shellfish which is very important for the production of salt and also a key link in the food chain of the salt pan, being the favorite food for birds like the flamingo and other species of shorebirds such as the avocet and the Knight of Italy. Cervia pine forest is a highly interesting natural environment characterized by the presence of two species of pine trees: the Stone Pine and the Maritime Pine as well as oaks, white poplars and locust trees. It’s a wonderful green space that offers landscapes and charming corners, ideal for walking, cycling or simply to enjoy the coolness and to relax in a pristine environment

We like to spread the knowledge of the “Montefeltro Renaissance Sights” project which aims at shedding light on “invisible landscapes” and at unveiling those “art places” that Renaissance painters chose as background landscapes for their paintings. This project brings art back to life, admiring a painting will be possible also outside a museum, you will actually find yourself in an open air museum because right in front of you is the landscape in the portrait depicting Duchess Battista Sforza, on display at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, the landscape of the painting “San Gerolamo e un Devoto”, exhibited at the Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice and the “Mona Lisa” vista points which inspired Leonardo da Vinci. A fruitful cooperation has been established with the academic world and the “Montefeltro Renaissance Sights” project carries out further research on the landscapes painted in the Montefeltro area; it represents an absolutely unique and original opportunity to preserve our rich cultural and environmental heritage

We are a local tour operator and we establish partnerships with small businesses like ours in order to support local activities, craftsmen and typical productions. Your visit to a pottery workshop in Perugia, to wineries in Tuscany and Umbria and to an olive mill in Umbria will support traditional work activities in a very competitive globalized environment and the locals will benefit from the positive impact of tourism as a tool to preserve traditions and ancient customs. If you decide to pay a visit to the “pit cheese” producer, you will be amazed by one of the most bizarre ways to produce delicious food dating back to the Renaissance period

Traditional Italian foods have strong links to local agricultural production areas. By visiting small-scale food and wine productions you will help the local economies and the agricultural environment which means indirectly supporting the preservation of natural habitats and the landscape, the safeguarding of the groundwater system and the protection and defense of the local area by their inhabitants. You can support local producers by buying local products at the places that you will be visiting. We provide on request a list of restaurants and shops selling typical local products and we can also arrange menus at selected restaurants to enable travellers to experience a typical local meal with genuine food
