Holiday information
Small group tour, ideal for solos & couples:
Small group travel is not large group travel scaled down. It is modeled on independent travel – but with the advantage of a group leader to take care of the itinerary, accommodation and tickets, and dealing with the language. It’s easy to tick off the big sights independently – but finding those one-off experiences, local festivals, travelling markets and secret viewpoints is almost impossible for someone without the insider knowledge gained from years in the field. For those with limited time, a small group tour will save valuable time in planning, and on holiday.
Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
CARBON REDUCTIONWe cover a lot of ground by exploring on foot. Not only does this allow you to be immersed in the beautiful surroundings of Talkeetna, Seward and Anchorage, but limits our carbon footprint by avoiding the use of transportation.
This tip offers a wide range of optional activities, the vast majority of which are human powered activities to really make the most of the natural surroundings. Think walking tours, public ferries round Fjords, and kayaking excursions.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
On this trip you’ll visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center in Portage Valley – a sanctuary that preserves local wildlife through conservation, education, research and animal care. Learn how they take in injured and orphaned Alaskan animals and provide them with care, spacious enclosures and a home.
This trip includes the Denali National Park entrance fee, the funds for which go into conserving the National Park and its fauna and flora.

LOCAL ECONOMYIt is important to us to support the local economies we visit. On this tour we use locally owned accommodation wherever possible, as well as locally owned- transportation.
Your tour leader will be a local, with extensive knowledge of the place they call home. We further support local guides such as your expert naturalist guide in Denali NP. In addition to this we encourage our travellers to eat locally, and shop locally, by recommending a great local bakery for a breakfast, or an excursion to a local winery in Homer.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
During the tour, visit the Alaska Native Heritage Center where you’ll learn more about Alaska’s cultural heritage, hear the stories of the Indigenous Alaskans and discover 10,000 years of Alaska Native history through demonstrations, art and dance.
By travelling on this trip, you’ll learn about our Foundation partner, the Cultural Heritage Economic Alliance. Donations help them create inclusive and equitable opportunities for Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) tourism businesses. We will double the impact by dollar-matching all post-trip donations made to our Foundation.
