Holiday information
Diet:
We cater for both vegetarians and vegans.
Indigenous communities:
A holiday in Kinabalu Park and Kampung Abai, Borneo, benefits the Iban, Kadazan, Dusun, and Orang Sungai indigenous communities by employing local guides and staff, including key positions like the operation manager, reservation executives, and accountant, who hail from these tribes, thereby supporting local employment and cultural representation.
Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
All our expeditions are organised and led with a commitment to maximising the benefits of our trips to the local community and minimising the negative impact associated with tourism. We employ local agents and staff, not just to benefit the local economy, but also to give you a real sense of the local culture. Trekking in the jungle gives more chances to spot wildlife like Pygmy elephants, gibbons, Orang Utan, Clouded Leopard, Leaf Monkey. Proboscis Monkeys, Hornbills, Crocodile, Eagles and many more.SUPPLIERS
The accommodation that is provided in this tour is green and eco-friendly. Some use solar power as main energy resource and Eco-treatment for wasted water.
WATER
We have initiated a series of projects for youth teams to install water tanks for rainwater collection and storage in remote villages. Working with village heads and always employing local people we fund and install the water facilities to ensure that clean water is available to the families.
People
VOLUNTEERING & CHARITYVolunteering and charity work is really important to us. We ensure to do both equally. We support a key volunteering project giving them visibility throughout our distribution channel and showing to people their ‘modus operandi’.
A FAIR DEAL
We support the local community and notably the majority of our staff is made up of local people. Some examples: Barshall our operation manager comes from Iban tribe in Sarawak, as does Rosa our senior reservation. Venissa – reservation executive comes from Kadazan tribe in Telupid – Sabah Petronella- account is a Dusun and come from Tuaran town in Sabah, also Rex, Rijan, Charles, Zaedi are all Malaysian are all from different area of Malaysia and comes from different ethnic group. We see this as being very important as local knowledge is very important. We 100% support the community.
