As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetWhen we use private transfers we do our upmost to combine vehicles and utilise the vehicle in both directions to reduce our footprint. The vast majority of the activities are based around the harbour town of Kas further minimising the need to drive. Where we do use a vehicle it tends to be smaller, and consequently less polluting than large coaches.
Guests are provided opportunities to refill bottled rather than buying plastic bottles.
Our local partners in Turkey are members of the Travelife Sustainable Tourism Project and have been certified to Travelife Partner status, dedicated to making holidays more sustainable, this is reflected in the careful consideration given to tour design and accommodation choices where we use family run smaller hotels rather than big chains. The hotel sources its produce from suppliers in the region thus reducing unnecessary transport emissions and encourages recycling within the hotel.
As a travel company we are continually looking for ways to improve and are proud to be ‘Responsible in everything we do’. Education is key, and so all staff, Tour Leaders and partnering suppliers are trained in responsible and sustainable tourism. At our Head Office, we continually strive towards a sustainable and planet-friendly working environment, including having solar panels installed and a company commitment to reducing our plastic usage.
PeopleWe have developed a long term working relationship with our various local suppliers who provide the elements of this trip providing long term employment.
With many people coming together to provide the holiday our money is spread far and wide - suppliers benefiting from our visit include café owners and equipment suppliers, along with the gulet owners for the day spent on a traditional Turkish gulet who in turn employ a full crew. We also support drivers and our local agent staff.
Our local partner in Turkey supports the Culture Routes Society, which works to develop and maintain long distance trekking and biking routes connecting areas of cultural interest in Turkey.
As a company we have valuable and longstanding partnerships with UK charities Toilet Twinning and Send a Cow, plus many smaller initiatives and projects around the world. We’re members of the UK travel industry body AITO because we believe it’s important to share our knowledge and experience, as well as learn from other operators.
