From the wildlife-rich wetlands of the Pantanal all the way to the marvellous Rio de Janeiro, see Brazil in all its glory on this 16-day tour. This is one of our bestselling and best-loved Brazil tours – the reviews speak for themselves.
You’ll get three days in the Pantanal at the start of this trip, where you’ll stay in an ecolodge and set out on the trail of the region’s famous jaguars. Next, you’ll transfer to Bonito for freshwater snorkelling and hiking waterfall to waterfall along forest trails.
From here it’s time to explore even bigger waterways: head to Iguazu Falls, where you’ll have a couple of days to see it from both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides. After the falls, you’re off to the coast. A flight takes you to Sao Paolo and from here you’ll head up the coast to spend time in Paraty before you drive up to Rio for four days of city highlights – from the Sugarloaf to the sandy beaches.

Our tailor made trips are designed with the places we visit in mind. This itinerary focuses on Brazil's wildlife, exploring areas of great environmental importance that have come under pressure in recent years. By choosing to travel here and staying in locally run lodges, you bring income to the communities who live alongside these habitats.In the Pantanal, for example, you'll stay at Refúgio da Ilha Lodge, where the owners have long been involved in wildlife research on their land. The BBC series 'Raising Sancho: The Orphan Giant Otter' and parts of the Freshwater episode of 'Planet Earth' were filmed on the lodge's grounds. Guided activities run in small groups, and on the trails that means taking all rubbish out, sticking to marked paths and keeping a respectful distance from wildlife.
We also encourage our guests to fly less often, and where a flight can't be avoided, as with reaching Brazil, to make the trip a longer, more immersive adventure rather than a short break. We want each trip to be enjoyable, but also inspiring, so guests go home with a better understanding of these places and why they matter.

They work with local groups to develop off-the-beaten-track experiences, which aim to give guests a more authentic cultural experience, bring employment and investment to the area, and help communities keep their culture alive.
