The itineraries we create are guided by three aims: looking after the places we visit, supporting local communities and helping our guests travel responsibly. To do this, we work with a boutique team on the ground who have been running responsible trips since 2011 and share our values.

Carbon reduction

The route is designed to keep domestic flights to a minimum and maximise your time on the ground. We choose road travel over flying wherever possible and use shared vehicles on longer journeys, which means fewer emissions per passenger than private transfers.

Excursions run in small groups, which means less fuel per person, less noise and less crowding at popular sites. Wherever possible, you'll explore on foot or by other non-motorised means.

Environment and wildlife

We work closely with our partners in Argentina and Chile. We encourage guests to bring a reusable bottle, and purified water is available to refill it. In natural areas, that means taking all rubbish out with you, sticking to marked paths and keeping a respectful distance from wildlife.

People

Local economy

Our partners buy food locally for both activities and accommodation, giving local producers a steady market.

Throughout your stay, we encourage you to eat out locally and explore each town, supporting small businesses and getting a more personal feel for the place.

Every experience is chosen with care, so you meet local people and places in a genuine way. In El Calafate, for example, the itinerary goes beyond the landscapes to include a half-day tour exploring the history of the early explorers and their encounters with the native Tehuelche people.

Employment, inclusivity and diversity

People are at the heart of everything we do. Our main aim is to design itineraries where the money you spend stays in Chile and Argentina, and our local partners work only with locally owned suppliers.

We work with certified local guides and drivers, and with hotels that employ people from the local community.
