This itinerary uses properties that have excelled in eco-tourism best practices. These accommodations are pioneers in their own right in responsible tourism practices. All the properties we use are single use plastic free. Some of the properties are certified for best practices for tourism through certification programs like Travel operators for Tigers (TOFT). This certification itself testifies that the accommodation we use are best in class for a unique brand of conscious luxury. All the lodges are very close to net zero if not carbon positive, especially the ones which are in the wilderness. The lodges in the wilderness are having a having a positive impact on the carbon footprint through carbon that they are sequestering through the trees within the premises. The lodges have played a role in their area to conserve wildlife through tourism of regeneration of habitat within their premises. They also work very closely with forest department and have supported species reintroduction programs and other conservation initiatives. Many of the lodges we use have regenerated degraded habitat in and around the premises to convert is to a healthy wildlife habitat

People

Conservation is not possible without the inclusion of local communities. On this tour we only work with accommodation providers who work closely with the local communities. More than 80% of the staff who work at the properties are local benefiting from the tourism. Jawai is a perfect example of how mostly private initiative have worked well to conserve keystone species like the leopard. This whole area is not protected and because of private entrepreneurship, the leopard is being protected, private lodges, especially lodge that we stay at have advocated leopard conservation and also compensated the losses of livestock through leopard attacks. In Little Rann of Kutch and and Black Buck lodge, the lodges are also responsible in doing very similar practices. In Satpura as well, the lodges are having close contact with the locals, employing the locals. They work closely with the forest department for training purposes and spend CSR activities in the local areas for education and conservation. The lodges have adopted local village schools and educate the kids on the importance of wildlife and conservation.
