Camp Kalahari, nestled within Botswana's expansive Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, is part of Natural Selection's trio of camps spread across a vast one-million-acre private wildlife reserve. This camp is dedicated to responsible travel and sustainability, aligning with Natural Selection's overarching commitment to conservation and community support.

Natural Selection actively engages in conservation efforts across its operations. A notable initiative is the Makgadikgadi Conservation Initiative, which supports Botswana's significant zebra and wildebeest migration. Sustainable Camp Design:

In line with minimising environmental impact, Natural Selection constructs new camps using local and recycled materials, incorporating renewable energy sources. This approach ensures that each camp blends seamlessly into its environment while supporting local eco-friendly enterprises.

Camp Kalahari offers guests immersive experiences with the local Zu’/hoasi Bushmen, providing unique insights into their culture, traditions, and survival skills in the desert. These authentic interactions allow travellers to better understand the Bushmen’s deep connection to the land while helping to preserve and celebrate their indigenous knowledge.

Beyond cultural experiences, Camp Kalahari actively supports local communities by providing employment and training opportunities, ensuring sustainable livelihoods for nearby residents. Many of the camp’s staff come from surrounding villages, allowing tourism to directly benefit the local economy.
