CARBON REDUCTION

Human-powered transport: The Scottish Highlands are best explored on foot, allowing you to truly connect with the landscape. During our time here, we’ll take gentle guided walks along lochs, glens, and forest trails, moving at a relaxed pace. Feel the crunch of heather and grass underfoot, hear the rush of waterfalls and streams, and enjoy the fresh Highland air. Where appropriate, we’ll also include short boat trips on lochs, giving you a unique sensory perspective of the scenery through the sounds of water and wildlife.

Vegetarian and vegan options: We ensure vegetarian and vegan options are available throughout the trip by visiting local cafés, inns, and markets offering meat-free selections. During a hands-on Highland cooking experience, you’ll prepare and taste traditional Scottish dishes adapted for all diets, experiencing the aromas, textures, and flavours of local cuisine.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

Heritage and culture: The Highlands are rich in history and culture, from ancient castles to historic distilleries. Highlights include visits to local artisan workshops, such as wool or tartan makers, where you can touch and feel the textures of the materials while learning about their craft. Throughout our explorations, we encourage sustainable travel practices, and in some cases, our fees contribute to the preservation of Scotland’s cultural heritage for future visitors.

Natural wildlife and environment: The Highlands are home to a remarkable variety of wildlife. On our guided walks and boat trips, you may hear and spot red deer, otters, herons, eagles, and reindeer, and gain an appreciation for the delicate ecosystems of lochs, glens, and mountains. Our expert guides ensure all wildlife encounters are respectful and highlight the importance of protecting both the natural and built environment.

LOCAL ECONOMY

We pride ourselves on engaging local guides for all our trips. In the Scottish Highlands, this includes guided walks through scenic glens, visits to artisan workshops, and exploring local markets and distilleries. Along the way, you will experience the textures of heather, stone paths, and tartan fabrics, the sounds of rushing rivers and wildlife, and the scents of fresh local produce, baked goods, and whisky. These experiences allow a deeper connection with the Highlands’ unique culture and heritage.

Following our ethos of Responsible Tourism, we are passionate about supporting local businesses and community projects. During our stay, you will visit local workshops, learn about traditional crafts such as wool, tartan, or whisky-making, and gain an appreciation of how these artisans and producers maintain their livelihoods.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY

As an inclusive employer, we are proud of our diverse and inclusive workforce, which aims to create a team that includes visually impaired staff members. Our focus is to provide Tailored and Group trips for the visually impaired community, while fostering an inclusive environment for all, regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, ability, or sexual orientation.

Our trips are carefully planned to cater to various needs, including those with physical or sensory impairments. Assistance is available from the moment a client arrives at a destination until departure. On Tailored holidays, support is provided as much or as little as required depending on levels of sight and mobility. For Group trips, support is provided for every two clients, according to individual needs. Circumstances requiring additional support, including personal care or help during meal times, are assessed individually, and we do our utmost to accommodate all travellers.
