Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
This is a slow itinerary, designed so you can explore the landscapes of Argentina and Antarctica while supporting the people and places that make the region special. Spending longer in each place means less time on the move.Excursions run in small groups, which means fewer vehicles on the road, fewer emissions per passenger than private transfers and less pressure on sensitive sites. Visits to protected areas, such as Tierra del Fuego National Park, include entry fees that help fund the running of the parks, and local guides explain the ecosystems you're visiting. On the trails, that means taking all rubbish out, sticking to marked paths and keeping a respectful distance from wildlife.
In Antarctica, you'll travel on the Seaventure, a small expedition ship. Naturalist guides lead every landing and give talks on board about the wildlife, ice and history of the region, and all visits follow the Antarctic visitor guidelines, from keeping your distance from penguins and seals to cleaning boots and clothing before going ashore.
People
People are at the heart of everything we do. All our operations are local, from suppliers and transfers to guides. We've included plenty of time on foot in Buenos Aires and Ushuaia, so you can meet local people, artisans and traditions along the way. In Buenos Aires, a tango show offers an evening of one of Argentina's best-loved cultural traditions.
We choose small and family-owned places to stay wherever possible, so the money you spend goes into the local economy. Palo Santo Hotel offers equal opportunities to men and women at all levels and works with local cooperatives that support people who need it most. Estancia La Bandada, a working ranch, employs local residents and gives you a taste of rural Argentine life through gaucho demonstrations and cooking classes.
