Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

CARBON REDUCTIONTo help reduce carbon emissions we include pick-ups and drop-offs at public transport locations in Glasgow at the start of the tour and the end drop-off.
Food during the tour will almost always include Vegetarian and Vegan options as standard (dietary requirements are requested from guests prior to our tour commencing so this can be planned and catered for).
We use one vehicle for the group throughout the tour to reduce carbon emissions where possible.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
We travel in a small group with a maximum of 7 and use only one vehicle to maintain minimal impact on wildlife, habitats and local communities.
We encourage our guests to steer clear of single-use plastics, instead bringing their own personal reusable water bottles for the tour.
Our ‘no paper’ policy means that all our tour information is sent to guests digitally.
This tour directly supports the Scottish charity Trees for Life, by planting at least one native tree in their woodland for every guest and leader who joins our tour.
During the tour itself we also support the RSPB through visiting sites including Loch Gruinart and Oa Nature Reserves and meet the Reserve Managers so they can tell the conservation story in their own words. Through citizen science data collection we also support charities and organisations including the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust, iNaturalist, Seaweed Spotter and the Shark Trust.

LOCAL ECONOMYWe stay in independently-owned hotels to support local business rather than chain hotels.
All food for the tour is purchased on the islands and we pride ourselves in researching and visiting a range of restaurants around the islands to experience a range of island cuisines of the highest standards. There are also opportunities for guests to visit local businesses to purchase island crafts, such as woollens and jewellery, and try local food and drink, including a whiskey or two from one of the 12 distilleries on the islands.
The tour donates specifically to the two RSPB Reserves that we visit on island, contributing to their intrinsic value and enabling local people to continue the great conservation work carried out through this organisation.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
We support local businesses and operating partners throughout the tour which contributes to the isles’ economy as well as embracing the rich culture of these unique islands.
All our tours are LGTBQ+ friendly.
