Our family activity holiday in Slovenia is situated in the centre of the small town of Bled. Our contribution to the local community and economy, as well as our efforts to minimise the environmental impact of tourism in Bled and its surrounding area, takes many forms.

Client families are booked to travel in groups and transfers arranged to reduce fuel consumption and environmental impact. This trip offers a range of environmentally friendly activities such as cycling, rafting and canyoning. All activities are delivered by a fully qualified, local guide who knows the area and how to respect it.

Environment and Wildlife

Hotel Savica Garni is dedicated to protecting nature and the environment. Certified by the Eco-daisy label, the hotel’s ethos is detailed in their ‘Green for a Better Tomorrow’ programme. The team here make a conscious effort to separate waste, turn off lights and water, limit towel washing and offer guests returnable glass bottles. Working in conjunction with the Bled Tourist Board and Bled Tourist Association, Hotel Savica Garni is a proud swan custodian, provide protection and caring for the birds’ wellbeing.

People

Local Economy

We work only with hotels which are either locally owned or employ members of the local community as key members of staff and produce is sourced seasonally from local suppliers.

Lunch and dinner are not included in this trip and families are encouraged to enjoy local cuisine by visiting independent restaurants and supporting the local economy. A free day is included in the agenda to allow guests to explore Bled and pick up some souvenirs from shops in the neighbourhood.

The hotel group has worked with the Slovenian Association of Friends of Youth for a number of years. They have gifted vacations and excursions for many socially disadvantaged families to enjoy. During one campaign, they donated warm tracksuits as presents to children who truly needed them.

Employment, Inclusivity and Diversity

Each year, the company supports the trade union of the company, the PGD Moravske Toplice and PGD Radenci-Boraceva volunteer firemen society, the Ptuj Diving Society, and the Gornja Radgona and Radenci Primary Schools.
