Travel guides
Our sea splashed Greece walking holidays guide has everything you need to know about island and mainland trails.
This peninsula – joined to the mainland by an isthmus – is like an island in its own right, and gorgeously Greek.
Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
CARBON REDUCTIONWe are committed to offering low-impact holidays, which benefit the countries and communities we visit, as well as our travellers and the natural environment. We believe in the transformative power of travel and aim to minimise our ecological footprint by selecting eco-friendly accommodations, encouraging waste reduction, and supporting sustainable transportation options where possible.
This walking holiday offers a more eco-conscious way to experience the Peloponnese, with much of the itinerary enjoyed on foot through gorges, historic sites, coastal landscapes and traditional villages. Walking helps reduce reliance on transport while allowing you to appreciate the region’s abundant flora and fauna at a slower pace.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
We operate a ‘leave no trace’ policy in national parks, archaeological sites, monuments, and other sensitive areas like beaches and coastlines; these should be treated with the ultimate respect to maintain them for future generations. Our tour leaders are trained to promote this message to our customers during the holiday.
The Anavryti Gorge, in particular, provides an opportunity to experience the area’s remarkable wildflowers and diverse plant life, while visits to Mystras, Monemvasia and the beautiful villages of Mani connect the journey with the region’s cultural and architectural heritage.
People
LOCAL ECONOMYWe provide ample opportunities to explore the local area on foot, where you can shop for local wares and crafts and immerse yourselves in the destination's cultural heritage. To enhance your experience, your tour leader will be joined by a knowledgeable, well-qualified local guide for the duration of the trip. Along the way, you'll explore local markets, cafés, vineyards, and family-run restaurants, helping to support the local economy.
Staying at the family-run Hotel Pantheon in Gytheio, as well as dining at local tavernas, helps keep tourism spending within the local community. Breakfasts are provided at the hotel, while dinners and many lunch opportunities are at locally-owned tavernas, cafés and shops, giving guests the chance to sample regional Greek cuisine and support local businesses and families. Our itinerary also includes visits to traditional villages and local craft shops, further contributing to the local economy.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY & DIVERSITY
We are committed to responsible and sustainable travel practices that support both the local environment and surrounding communities. By selecting environmentally conscious accommodation, encouraging reduced waste, and prioritising sustainable transport where possible, we aim to minimise our footprint. Through respectful engagement and conscious travel choices, we strive to protect natural landscapes while delivering enriching and memorable experiences.
