Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Respect for the environment and a commitment to the principles of sustainable development have always been at the core of our ethos. Most importantly, we have taken this from statement to fact across every aspect of our tours.Over the past two decades, we have remained committed to uplifting lives, developing communities, and engaging in sustainable practices to benefit the environment.
We do not operate group tours. This helps to reduce the impact on both local communities and the environment. This also helps to facilitate close interaction with local communities. Most of the tours in Sri Lanka are off-the-beaten-track which helps in reducing negative impacts of mass tourism and helping to redistribute tourism income to genuine local stakeholders and helping to propagate responsible tourism with genuine and authentic experiences.
Sri Lanka is a land known and renowned for her rich biodiversity, from the elephants, to birds, to the whale to the leopard and sloth bear. Through our chauffer guides and wildlife guides, we seek to create awareness and educate guests, local communities and schoolchildren regarding the issues facing each species. With this in mind, in all our practices we never will directly market, promote, or endorse the use of animals – especially elephants as entertainment or at private functions. Our approach is to discourage third parties to do so as well, to the best of our ability.
People
Belief that tourism cannot exist in isolation, is one of our guiding principles and we work to build positive relationships with the local communities amongst whom we operate, aiming to benefit them through the support of our operations and dedicated efforts to enhance quality of life.We are committed to working with local tour operators and small family owned accommodation owners who share our deep commitment to responsible travel. The highlight of the tour is interacting with the local families on the trip. On the east coast one of our local families will lead the cooking and fishing expedition and in Galle spend some time with a local education centre doing some creative activities – a perfect add on for such family holidays.
During your travel you will be having ample opportunities to meet up with local people. At the homestays and family owned resorts the food is locally sourced and one of the highlights will be local cuisine. Your tour will be directly beneficial to the local communities economically. Thus the local immersion will greatly help both sides in developing healthy tourism.
