This fantastic four-day activity holiday in the Chilean Lake District is ideal for families and small groups seeking an adventurous few days whilst travelling in South America. Set within the gorgeous Puelo Valley, you’ll stay in a charming lodge on the shores of Lake Tagua.

The natural surroundings alone will set your heart racing however, when combined with kayaking, horse riding and treks in the mountain foothills, you’ll be hard pushed to find anywhere else half as exciting in the whole of South America.

Alternative activities, such as river rafting, fly fishing and cultural excursions, can also be arranged with full board facilities and airport transfers from Puerto Montt providing a stress free experience for families looking for a break by the lake.

The accommodation is located within Parque Tagua Tagua and comprises 18 guest rooms, providing a few home comforts amongst the mountains and lakes of southern Chile. The lodge has been designed to reduce energy use and limit its environmental impact while providing accommodation in the surrounding natural landscape.
The onsite restaurant serves locally sourced ingredients, with dishes including lamb, trout, shellfish and wild boar.

Trekking
• Tagua-Tagua Waterfalls – easy to moderate, 3–4 hours
• Alerce Lagoon – moderate, 7–8 hours
• Andean Lakes – moderate, 6 hours
• Arena Beach – easy, 3–4 hours
• Llanada Grande – easy, 5–6 hours
Mountain biking
• Mountain bike trip to Puelo – moderate to difficult, 6–7 hours
Kayaking
• Prijon double and single sea kayaks are used, built to European safety standards. Life jackets and protective wet bags are provided.
• Kayak to the Big Falls – easy, 3–4 hours
• Kayak to the Tagua Tagua Crossing – easy, 7 hours
Rafting
• Rafting equipment, including wetsuits, buoyancy aids, boots, personal flotation devices and helmets, is provided. A kayak guide also accompanies the trip.
• Puelo River rafting – moderate to hard, approximately 4 hours
Horse riding
• Ride to South Puelo – easy, 3–4 hours
Cultural excursions
• Puelo Riverside – easy, 7 hours
• Rural Experience – easy, 5–6 hours
• Boat tour – easy, 3–4 hours

Excursions are accompanied by an English-speaking local guide equipped with an emergency radio and first-aid kit. Activities are designed for a range of ages, although a minimum age of 11 is recommended for kayaking, rafting, horse riding and trekking to Alerce Lagoon.
