- This trip focusses on wildlife and in particular birding and aims to provide you with some of the best bird watching to be had in Sulawesi, . It is expected that you will see at least 200 species of birds on your trip which will give guests a first-hand experience of the magnificent eco-systems which operate in this area, in turn hopefully demonstrating why there is a need for conservation. Guides will explain the correct procedures for viewing the birds and ensure that their habitat is not infringed upon.
The Impacts of this Trip
-The trip brings much needed money into the local community – helping the community of guides and their families. The guide followed his father to Tangkoko and the local people there taught him how to be a guide – passing on their local knowledge.
The trip in turn helps to support the local community through the guide's connections.
The total number of guides for birding & wildlife in Tangkoko is 50 people and only 10 guides who can guide for all Sulawesi birding & wildlife including him.
Overnight accommodation includes several homestays throughout the trip where you will be immersed in the local culture and get to try local food.
