Travel between Djibouti City, Lake Abbé, Lake Assal and Tadjourah is by road, with no domestic flights within this itinerary. Selected visits include walking with a local guide.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

At Lake Abbé and Lake Assal, travellers follow their guide’s instructions and leave natural formations undisturbed.

During seasonal whale shark excursions and snorkelling trips, guests must follow the boat crew’s instructions. Touching, feeding or chasing marine animals is not permitted. Guests must not stand on coral or remove coral, shells or other natural materials.

Travellers are asked to take their litter away and decline unnecessary disposable shopping bags.

Visits to markets in Djibouti City and Tadjourah offer opportunities to purchase directly from local traders.
