An essential part of this holiday is the use of public transport. Hong Kong has some serious transport congestion issues on its roads. We designed this tour to make use of the excellent public transport, be it buses, trains, subway or ferries to avoid adding to this congestion. Clients are provided with an Octopus card (equivalent of an Oyster card in London) so all the transport can be used seamlessly. We avoid travelling at peak times and travel to remote areas supporting lesser used transport links. Not only does this allow quicker transfer times to where we want to go but it avoids increasing private transport on already congested roads. We also avoid the extra emissions of private transport which is particularly important in parts of Hong Kong where air quality is not of the highest standards

People

Our holiday itinerary in Hong is unusual if not unique amongst some other UK tour operators in we explore areas where tourist rarely tread, visiting outer islands and walking on local trails. An important part of this holiday is taking clients to see areas well off the tourist track thus avoiding adding to over tourism evident at some attractions in Hong Kong. We also eat in some restaurants in villages well away from the city centre making sure as much of the tourist pound as possible goes into local hands and benefits local communities. It also allows the maximum possible cultural exchange between our customers and the local population.

We cap passengers at a maximum of 18 customers on this tour so as not to impact on the environment and every customer has the best opportunity to engage with the locals. This maximises cultural exchange to the great benefit of all parties.
