Golden Triangle in Northern India and Kerala in South India are very popular tourism circuits. As they are popular they get a huge influx of travelers in peak season. In order to make the trip more sustainable, we take following steps:1. Utilise hotels that are socially and environmentally responsible: Hotel groups like Taj, Samode, Oberoi, CGH have worked on optimization of Energy and water consumption. Using LED lights, having proper insulations, optimum shielding of room are some of the steps taken in this regard.
2. Houseboats that are environmentally conscious: We use the houseboat company that has best environment practices. The houseboats are designed along the lines of traditional rice barges, or kettuvallam in local language. The hulls of the houseboats are made in the ancient traditional manner from jackfruit tree wood, with no nails—all the wood is stitched together and sealed with a natural waterproofing method made from fish oil. Within the hull, under the main deck is all the equipment that makes the houseboats ecologically responsible, including efficient engines, fresh water holding tanks, and other specialty fittings.
3. Emission tested vehicles: We have emission tested vehicles for the tours. These are as per government norms. Also, our vehicles are regularly serviced so that the fuel utilisation is efficient. This reduces carbon footprint
