For example, Tortuga Lodge users solar panels, bio digestors and contribute a per person conservation fee directly into Tortuguero.

CARBON REDUCTION
We also encourage you to stay longer on your trip; when you travel less but stay longer your carbon footprint from both long and short-haul flights or road transfers is dramatically reduced. Embracing slow travel is not only good for the planet, it's also the best way to see and experience all the magic that Costa Rica has to offer.

For example Tortuga Lodge is owned by the Boena Collection of Wilderness Lodges which forms part of the National Chamber of Sustainable Tourism (CANAECO). A non-profit organization, CANAECO provides stimulus to develop responsible and sustainable practices across the tourism industry. We vet our suppliers in every destination we work with to ensure that your experience will be both culturally enriching and beneficial for the local communities.
