CARBON REDUCTION

Exploring by electric mountain bike:
Electric mountain biking combines pedalling with battery-powered assistance, allowing guests to explore a variety of mountain landscapes and trails. The itinerary is organised around two accommodation bases, in Gap and Sisteron, rather than changing hotels every night. Local transport is arranged where required.

Reducing disposable packaging:
We provide picnic lunches in reusable containers, avoiding the need for disposable food packaging wherever possible. We also provide holiday information digitally and limit printed documents in our office operations.

Supporting rewilding projects:
We contribute to rewilding projects through our partner Mossy Earth on behalf of our travellers. These contributions support nature restoration initiatives but do not offset the carbon emissions associated with the holiday.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

Discovering Alpine and Provençal wildlife:
This journey crosses a remarkable variety of landscapes, from the forests and mountain pastures of the Southern French Alps to the gorges and lavender-growing countryside of Provence.

Along the way, your guide will share knowledge of the local environment and wildlife. Depending on the season and conditions, you may encounter or spot signs of species such as chamois, mouflon, deer, wild boar, foxes, eagles and vultures. Wolves also inhabit parts of the region, although sightings are extremely rare.

Responsible riding:
We use established trails and tracks suited to the group's ability and local conditions. Your guide encourages responsible mountain biking practices, including respecting other trail users, avoiding disturbance to wildlife and following any restrictions in protected areas.

These practices help guests explore the region with care and respect for its natural environment.

LOCAL ECONOMY

Throughout the holiday, we work with independently owned accommodation providers, restaurants and local suppliers in the Southern French Alps and Provence.

Our guides are qualified local mountain biking professionals who know the region, its trails and its communities. Working with these businesses and professionals helps direct part of the holiday spending towards the places guests visit.

Tourism beyond the ski season:
By operating this holiday from May to October, we help create opportunities for local tourism businesses outside the traditional winter ski season, particularly in mountain areas where tourism plays an important role in the local economy.

The holiday is led by a qualified local mountain bike guide with extensive knowledge of the trails, landscapes and communities of the Southern French Alps and Provence.

We work with local professionals and pay agreed commercial rates for their expertise and services.

We are committed to treating everyone fairly and respectfully, from the local people we work with to the travellers who join our holidays. Participation is based on the riding experience, fitness and safety requirements of the trip.
