Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
CARBON REDUCTIONElectric mountain biking allows you to explore the mountains under your own power while reducing the need for vehicle use during the holiday. We minimise transport by using two accommodation bases rather than changing hotels every night.
We use reusable containers for all picnic lunches to eliminate single-use plastics and operate as a paper-free office wherever possible. We also plant a tree on behalf of every traveller through our partnership with Mossy Earth to help offset the carbon footprint of the trip.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
This journey takes you through some of the most beautiful and unspoilt landscapes of the Southern French Alps and Provence, including wolf country where wildlife is abundant. Depending on the season, you may spot chamois, mouflon, wild boar, deer, foxes, eagles and vultures, while wolves also inhabit the region.
To minimise our impact, we favour quieter trails away from the busiest mountain biking routes, helping to reduce erosion and disturbance to wildlife. Our guide shares knowledge about the local environment, landscapes and wildlife throughout the week, encouraging a greater understanding of these fragile mountain ecosystems and promoting responsible behaviour on the trails.
People
LOCAL ECONOMYWe work with independent locally owned accommodation, local restaurants and local suppliers so that the economic benefits of your holiday remain within the communities you visit. All guiding is provided by qualified local mountain bike guides with an exceptional knowledge of the region.
Running this holiday from May to October also helps support year-round tourism, providing valuable income outside the traditional peak winter and summer seasons.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
We employ local professionals and pay fair commercial rates for their expertise. Throughout the journey, your guide shares the history, culture and traditions of the Southern French Alps and Provence, helping visitors better understand the landscapes, villages and communities they are travelling through.
We welcome travellers from all backgrounds and are committed to providing an inclusive and respectful environment where participation is based solely on the physical requirements and safety considerations of the holiday.
