As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetOur guides have a great love and passion for the areas they help you discover. They understand that protecting those areas is their utmost responsibility.
One of the ways we found to do so is with our extensive waste management program. Following guidelines from Banff National Park, we recycle everything possible. Not only do we recycle we ensure that the items we put in our recycling bins are going to get recycled. How? First, we ensure that the item is in fact recyclable. Second, we rinse or clean those items, as any dirty items get sent to the garbage and not recycled. Lastly, we separate and dispose of our items in the proper bins to guarantee that our hard work will pay off.
Camping is a great way to save energy. The fact that we are staying in the great outdoor greatly reduces our energy consumption.
We use only what we need to make your holiday as comfortable as possible. Your guides will be cooking breakfasts and dinner with the help of propane stoves. Alternatively, we use the campfire to cook some of our dessert and dinner items. All meals are cooked with and served using reuseable cutlery and plates to cut down waste.
We have also selected hikes that are located within a short driving distance from our campsites. Therefore reducing our need for gasoline to get to the trailheads. These are all efforts we have made to reduce our energy consumption.
PeopleYour camping experience is made possible by the continued efforts of local people who work directly and indirectly with our National Park services.
We take care of all National park fees and permits required to enter the parks. This funding goes directly into the services provided by our national parks. Whether it's for conservation, visitor safety, guest experience, etc. The park service is one of the main employers in both Banff and Jasper. By visiting you are supporting these small mountain communities.
There's amazing history and culture in these parks that we can wait to share with you.
We further support the community by partnering with other small businesses. Your afternoon of rafting will be with a local company in British Columbia the neighboring province.
They have been in the rafting business for years and their guides are known to be some of the best in the industry. We are careful with our partnering choices, we choose not only local businesses, but companies that see your safety as their number one priority, just like us!
