There is nowhere on earth quite like The Galapagos Islands National Park. Since Darwin stepped foot on the Islands in 1835 the archipelago has fascinated scientists and visitors alike. Protection and preservation of this unique biosphere is ever more important. Restrictions are put into place so that all guides take measures to ensure that visitors stick to designated paths and to ensure shoes are cleaned to avoid any cross- pollination of plants between islands before boarding the boats.
You’ll be aboard a first class vessel that was created using high tech’ to keep within environmental parameters and to work with maximum efficiency but reduce Co2 emissions.

• Renewable resources shall not be used at a higher rate than their generation.
• Polluting substances may not be produced at a rate greater than that at which they can be recycled.
The type of small vessel with a technologically advanced engine can reduce Carbon output by a minimum of 25% compared with the majority of boats in the Galapagos.
Visitors are encouraged to employ some basic rules once on board the boat which are the sort of measures that most of us take at home. Refilling plastic bottles for drinking, not using A/C if not needed; turning lights off when leaving the cabin and taking short showers

Our partners are not only owned by inhabitants of the Galapagos islands but the staff they employ are also mainly local. Local connections extend to small businesses at all levels from purchasing food products from local producers to using local companies for washing linen and transportation on the islands where needed. Galapagos relies on responsible tourism now for its survival.
On Santa Cruz island at Puerto Ayora school being so detached from the mainland basic equipment can be difficult to replace and access at times so we provide support and equipment and have provided school bags for all years
Ironically many children who live on the Galapagos have never been to other islands as most families would never be able to afford a cruise. We award children the opportunity to sail in the Galapagos and experience life outside their island as part of an education to drive to help the next generation understand and protect their precious environment.
