Our tailor made trips are designed with the places we visit in mind. This itinerary explores Brazil's Green Coast, named for the Atlantic Rainforest and mangrove forests that spread along the shoreline. Large areas of Brazil, from here to the Amazon, have come under pressure from logging and agriculture in recent years. By bringing visitors to these areas, staying in small, locally run hotels and lodges and employing local guides, we help show that these forests and coastlines are worth more to local people left standing.

Many of the activities on this trip are on foot or by kayak and boat, with local guides who know the coast well. On the trails, that means taking all rubbish out, sticking to marked paths and keeping a respectful distance from wildlife.

We also encourage our guests to fly less often, and where a flight can't be avoided, as with reaching Brazil, to make the trip a longer, more immersive adventure rather than a short break. We want each trip to be enjoyable, but also inspiring, so guests go home with a better understanding of these places and why they matter.

People

All of our trips take a slow travel approach, and we have chosen a ground partner in Brazil who shares our passion for community-based tourism. They work with local groups to develop off-the-beaten-track experiences, which aim to give guests a more authentic cultural experience, bring employment and investment to the area, and help communities keep their culture alive. Our partner is a female-founded and owned business, with a goal of increasing diversity in the Brazilian tourism industry.

We avoid international chain hotels, choosing independent, locally owned properties wherever possible. This keeps more money in the immediate area and provides business and employment for local people, while giving you a more genuine stay as part of your tailor made Brazilian adventure.
