This South Korea family tour blends fun cultural experiences with time in some of the country’s most engaging cities. Beginning in Seoul, you'll get a feel for daily life through activities such as an exciting taekwondo class and visits to historic sites including Gyeongbok Palace. Exploring neighbourhoods like Bukchon Hanok Village offers insight into traditional architecture, while markets, performances and free time allow for a more personal experience of the city.
Travelling south by high-speed train to Jeonju, food culture takes centre stage. A hands-on cooking class introduces you to the delights of bibimbap, and a stay in a traditional hanok provides a more intimate connection to Korean heritage. In Gyeongju, often described as a museum without walls, a guided walk brings together ancient tombs, observatories and long-standing cultural traditions.
A highlight of the trip comes with an overnight temple stay at Golgulsa, where you take part in meditation, communal routines and martial arts training, offering a brief but meaningful glimpse into monastic life. The experience provides a relaxing contrast to the pace of the cities visited earlier in the journey.
The final days in Busan bring a coastal perspective, with visits to temples set above the sea, lively markets and time to relax by the beach. CARBON REDUCTIONDuring the tour, we will use a combination of public buses and trains, which is an effective way to lower your carbon footprint, while also allowing you to experience the local culture and enjoy the scenic views.
You can also expect to do a lot of walking in each location, providing you with light exercise and contributing to reducing the carbon footprint on the planet.
We always recommend our travellers to pack lightly for the trip. This makes travelling more comfortable when carrying luggage, however reducing the weight will also reduce fuel use when flying and thus reducing the carbon emission.
Our South Korea Team and Adventure Leader are made aware of our travellers dietary restrictions, and are happy to recommend places to find vegetarian and vegan food throughout the tour. When our travellers visit Golgulsa Temple, all the meals included are vegetarian.

In South Korea, recycling is extremely important and our leaders will actively encourage travellers to do their part in reducing what goes to landfill, and responsibly disposing of food waste, garbage and recycling
