Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

CARBON REDUCTIONAll of the ships we use on this tour are sailboats. Although each of these ships have motors that we do use, we try our best to hoist the sails when the wind cooperates to be more human powered and conserve energy and gas emissions going into the water and surrounding environment.
We have vegetarian and vegan options available for travelers with a variety of dietary needs. From the minute you inquire about one of our tours we discuss what your dietary needs are and do our absolute best to ensure you are well fed, energized, and satiated throughout your adventure travels with us. Dietary restrictions are always communicated from our office staff to our guides on the ground to ensure our guests are well taken care of.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
Additionally, in an effort to reduce our impacts on the natural environment, in our packing list, we suggest that our guests bring a water filter to filter tap water. Otherwise we ask that guests bring a wide-mouth water bottle so we can dispense from larger water bottles and reduce use of single use plastic.
In addition to recommending that guests bring and wear reef safe sunscreen, we recommend that guests bring bandanas and lightweight clothing to cover up from sun exposure as much as possible. This is better for the environment as guests with sunscreen will not be swimming in the water damaging that ecosystem. We find this is culturally appropriate in some destinations, more comfortable, and better for our guests and the environment.
People
LOCAL ECONOMYAt the beginning and end of this tour we recommend stays at boutique hotels that employ locals.
The ship we stay on has a crew of people all from Croatia. We also recommend that all guests tip each crew member at the end of the trip to thank them for their kind service and sharing of their country.
Additionally, when on-land, we almost exclusively eat at one off restaurants throughout this tour to ensure we are putting money back into the locals pockets who enjoy sharing their cuisine. This also helps our guests get the most out of their time in Croatia as they get the truest experience possible trying local cuisine.
This tour also includes stops at locally owned vineyards for wine tastings. All of the vineyards are owned and operated by locals that we will learn from. The owners of these vineyards share about the agricultural production of wine and olive oil and how it relates to them personally and as a country. We support family owned vineyards to help them continue making wine for generations to come.
This tour also includes a guided tour of a monastery in Vidova Gora where a local educates us on the significance and history of the monastery. Walking the building through the perspective of a local gives guests a much richer experience.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
We are able to accommodate people with physical limitations, disabilities and medical conditions; please speak with our team ahead of time if you think you will require any additional assistance while on the trip.
All of our group tours in Croatia are LGBTQ+ friendly. Everyone is welcome on our tours regardless of identity.
All of our operating staff and guides get paid at least minimum wage.
