CARBON REDUCTION
This adventure around the Greek Peloponnese does not require the use of internal flights in Greece. For flight to Greece, we suggest that our customers calculate their estimated impact on the environment of their flights (we send a link) and choose to purchase sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to act on their emissions if possible, or purchase carbon offsets from certified climate projects

Once we are in the region we do minimise our carbon footprint by using modern vehicles that all meet or exceed the standard EU requirements. All of our food is locally sourced and we use locally owned and managed hotels. For example, when we have dinner at a local tavern at Aeropolis or on our first night when dinner is at a historic tavern in Lygourio.

We use a minimum three-star, conveniently located hotels and apartments that practice good eco-tourism, use products and hire staff from the local villages, walk lightly on the surrounding environment and are true to the area they represent. Vegan and vegetarian food is available but must be requested in advance.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
On this tour we are committed to reduce the environmental impacts of our visit. Our guides are all locally based and experts in the region that we travel to. The guide has excellent knowledge of the places visited and will provide you information throughout the whole trip, including historical, cultural and social aspects. Your guide takes care of all the essential things of the tour, offers suggestions for things to do and see and is keen to introduce you to the local communities at every opportunity. All of our clients get an information sheet before travelling with information about reducing their impacts on the local environment.

We advise customers not to purchase any type of coral and products made of corals as well as all big shells, ivory and products made of ivory, cactuses or orchids, Chinese medicines, any products made of the skins of tortoises, crocodiles, snakes, big cats, butterflies and parrots. The Greek authorities are very strict on diving and snorkelling at or near sites of antiquity. Our guides will advise travellers of the requirements regarding this.

We aim to use 100% locally owned accommodation on this tour. For example, when in Gialova, we stay in a unique property next to the lagoon, one of the most important wetlands in Europe.

The tour also uses 100% local guides. Our strategy is to develop long term relationships with our local suppliers to ensure that the economic benefit is ongoing and continuous. There must also be a visible benefit to the local communities. Our lunches and dinners are at locally owned restaurants and tavernas, for example when we have lunch in a local tavern by the river Vouraikos.

We ensure that local suppliers and operators receive a fair rate for their services and support and encourage fair employment practices.
