Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

CARBON REDUCTION:

This 7-day cycling tour in Sardinia, Italy greatly minimizes the carbon emission by replacing air travel with physical movement. The importance of this cannot be overstated as at least 5 days of the trip are dedicated to cycling.

Although we may not provide explicit advice to reduce carbon impressions, our tour inherently promotes a green lifestyle, reducing the overall carbon footprints of all participants.

We take pride in using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients for meals provided, reducing carbon emissions from food transportation.

Local hotels typically have a smaller environmental footprint than large hotel chains. They usually utilize the existing infrastructure and housing stock rather than intensifying construction activity that contributes to environmental degradation. Furthermore, they are often more attuned and responsive to local environmental concerns and are more likely to adopt eco-friendly work practices as they are directly impacted by environmental changes in the region.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE:

Our tour respects Sardinia’s natural beauty, leaving no trace whilst preventing the spread of any form of pollution which might harm local wildlife or natural habitats.

Entry fees to heritage site visits, such as the “phantom” village of Montevecchio, a UNESCO Geopark, actively contribute to their maintenance and preservation.

As a company, we go beyond reducing our environmental footprint; we are committed to regenerating the planet for our future generations. An integral part of this commitment is that we pledge to donate 1% of the cost of each trip to various sustainability causes.

All our tours are guided by local experts, sharing rich insights about local biodiversity, threats, and conservation methods, promoting respect for nature and its inhabitants.

LOCAL ECONOMY

On this tour of Sardinia, every accommodation, from Torre Hotel to Hotel Italia, is local, injecting much-needed revenue directly into the local community, as opposed to large international hotel chains.

Furthermore, the utilization of local guides plays a crucial role in supporting local economic opportunities. These guides, with their wealth of local knowledge, provide an authentic and enriching tour experience.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY, AND DIVERSITY

Generating local employment is a fundamental component of our tour operations. Although we cannot confirm precise percentages at this time, the majority of our staff, from guides to administrative personnel, are from the areas we operate in.

Inclusivity is at the heart of our operations. Hence, our Sardinia tour is designed to be accessible and friendly to all, including varying age groups and people of all sexual orientations, ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for all travelers. We believe travel experiences should be diverse, inclusive, and accessible to all travelers, regardless of their physical abilities or identities, making this trip especially friendly for the LGBTQ+ community.

By doing so, we aim to ensure our tours help build a more open, inclusive, and diverse world. Offering complete respect and support for all our participants, we strive for a travel culture that celebrates diversity in all its forms.
