CARBON REDUCTION

This trip does not include any internal flights. Vegetarian and vegan food is available on each day, and most food is seasonal. We require suppliers to follow energy efficiency practices, such as energy-saving light bulbs, and energy-efficient equipment. We advise our clients (e.g. through signs and verbal communication) to switch off lights and electric appliances when not in use or has put in place an overall switch-off plan (automated system).

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

We provide customers with information about reducing their impacts on nature. When signing a contract with them, we also send them our code of conduct. Customers are advised to bring their own water bottles and refill them daily, as tap water is safe to drink in most parts of Bulgaria. In our communication with accommodation hosts, restaurant staff and other service providers we insist on reduce or no use of any single use plastic (water bottles, cups, and cutlery, cosmetic and food containers). We verify that the excursion providers separates at least organic waste for composting and plastic for recycling where possible.

People

LOCAL ECONOMY

Accommodation is only in local hotels and guesthouses, not international chains. Some of the hotels' building (exterior and/or interior) incorporate elements of local art, architecture, or cultural heritage. Clients are accompanied by a local licensed guide and wine expert. 100% from our operating partners are from the country. All wineries are also locally owned. We encourage our guests to buy local souvenirs and gifts. All day excursions on this trip are carefully picked and the programs are adapted in a sustainable way with a vision of the real situation on the spot, respecting local specifics and local people.

Everyone working for us is legally engaged with the company and has clear working conditions and on-time payments. All the rights of the team are respected and taken into account in the working process. We pay strictly and in full the suppliers involved in this trip. We ensure that the rights of children are respected and safeguarded. If the supplier employs children below the age of 14, the business should ensure that there are special working conditions put in place to safeguard them (for example part-time or on an internship basis).
