During our Lofoten sailing trip we travel and sleep on a yacht which significantly reduces our carbon footprint compared to conventional holidays. Life on board is simple with limited water and battery power so we use resources responsibly. The trip avoids unnecessary internal flights and once you arrive all travel is by yacht or human powered activities. The yacht relies on battery power charged while sailing minimizing fuel consumption and there are no energy intensive appliances on board. All excursions are done on foot or by bike making human powered transport an integral part of the experience for several days Meals are prepared by the crew with vegetarian and vegan options available every day. We buy fresh seasonal produce locally in small ports avoiding large chains Food waste is minimized because disposal on a yacht is challenging so we plan purchases carefully and avoid products with excessive packaging. Guests are advised on how to reduce their environmental impact from saving water and energy to supporting local suppliers.

Environment&Wildlife
We avoid generating unnecessary noise by sailing under wind power whenever possible. Even when we use the engine, the sound is minimal because the yacht is small and the motor does not require high power. This also means lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions. When exploring on land, we take care not to disturb the natural environment so that these unique corners of Norway can remain pristine for future generations. We believe that being immersed in nature here is both inspiring and humbling, reminding us of its strength and the importance of protecting it. Our guests are encouraged to follow leave-no-trace principles and respect local wildlife by observing from a distance without feeding or disturbing animals. Whenever we visit protected areas, we contribute through entry fees, which support conservation and maintenance of these fragile ecosystems. We also share practical advice on reducing impact, such as staying on marked trails, avoiding single-use plastics, and choosing local seasonal food. By traveling slowly and thoughtfully, we aim to create a nature-positive experience that helps preserve biodiversity and fosters appreciation for the wild landscapes of Lofoten.

LOCAL ECONOMY
If we decide to use bikes during the trip, we rent them from local providers to support small businesses rather than large chains. Whenever possible, we also work with local guides because they can share unique insights and show places that tourists often overlook. This not only enriches the experience but also ensures that income stays within the community.

Our trips are LGBTQ+ friendly and we welcome guests from all backgrounds. We collaborate with partners who pay fair wages and respect equal employment principles regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or nationality. Our skippers come from diverse social backgrounds – anyone with official sailing qualifications can join our team.
