Wales
Contrary to perceptions, Wales isn’t really that wet, at least not compared to its neighbours.

Holiday information

Dietary requirements:
We can cater for vegetarian and vegan diets.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

CARBON REDUCTION

To help reduce carbon emissions we include pick-ups and drop-offs at public transport locations in Bangor at the tour start and end.

Food during the tour will almost always include Vegetarian and Vegan options as standard (dietary requirements are requested from guests prior to our tour commencing so this can be planned and catered for).

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

We travel in a small group with a maximum of 10 to minimise any impact on wildlife, habitats and local communities.

We encourage our guests to steer clear of single-use plastics, instead bringing their own personal reusable water bottles and thermal mugs for the tour.

Our ‘no paper’ policy means that all our tour information is sent to guests digitally.

This tour directly supports the Scottish charity Trees for Life, by planting at least one native tree in their woodland for every guest and leader who joins our tour.

During the tour itself we also support the RSPB and the Bardsey Bird Observatory, as well as Treborth Botanic Gardens at the University of Bangor; a 'living laboratory' which nurtures native and globally-threatened plants. These visits provide an educational element to our tour and promote conservation-orientated tourism beyond the tour itself.

People

LOCAL ECONOMY

We inspire our guests to think local: during the tour we will stay in independently-owned accommodation and utilise local goods and services all of which contributes to the local economy.

All food is purchased locally for the tour and there are opportunistic visits to local businesses and markets for guests to purchase local crafts and foods. We also encourage guests to try traditional foods where available.

The tour donates to Treborth Botanic Gardens and the Bardsey Bird Observatory, contributing to their intrinsic value and enabling local people to continue the great conservation work carried out by these organisations.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY

Being the home stomping ground of one of the leaders, our tour benefits from a long-established network of contacts and providers to achieve optimal wildlife sightings, demonstrating our value of local knowledge and promoting the research and work of local nature groups across North Wales. This offers an unparalleled experience for anyone wishing to explore the Welsh landscape in great depth.

All our tours are LGTBQ+ friendly.
