Memorable parts?
The people of rural Nepal... and their environment. They live hard lives - in a magnificent setting.
Tips?
Make sure you are fit, fit, fit.
Local benefits?
I do feel there was a benefit to local people - hopefully we left no trace!
Overall rating?
This was a great adventure for me - truly stunning, challenging and fulfilling. (more)Gen Ford
Memorable parts?
The second day of the Via Ferrata: clear blue skies, warm weather, mountains covered in snow, challenging via ferrata.
Tips?
The weather can be very variable: take walking gear to cover both warm and cool days, e.g. a thick and thin pair of trousers & shirt.
Local benefits?
Partly. The hotel we stayed in was family owned & run but required more travel to get there to/from the airport and to/from the walks. The guides were local
which could be good or bad... (more)Tim Stapenhurst
Memorable parts?
Every day was so different, but the first day trekking in Torres del Paine to the base of the towers was a great first day. You really do get 4 seasons in one day,
we had sunshine and snow! Our tour guide Tomas really made the whole trip amazing, his passion for Patagonia and trekking, his knowledge and general
banter (he really doesn't stop talking!) made the trip really memorable. We also had fantastic trekking guides for the 4 days in Torres del Paine.
Tips?
The... (more)Louise Albertella
Even the tipping ceremony was wonderful, but the last day of the trek was probably the best. Beautiful surroundings and walking easily down hill with new friends knowing that Kilimanjaro had been achieved. (more)Marleen James
The entire trip was truly a once in a lifetime adventure - every day was exciting... Fantastic!
(more)Jasmin Roman
7/10...Yes my adventure benefited local people. (more)Mussarat Khan
Without doubt going into the Himalaya's was the highlight. Our guide was great and made sure that we got to see Everest despite us both suffering from altitude sickness. The added bonus was getting to see a yeti skull!
(more)Anna Siraut
Seeing Everest for the first time was fantastic. The flight into Lukla was also exciting!
(more)Nicola Waldman
The most memorable part was mountain biking around the hills of Kathmandu.

Memorable parts?
Definitely reaching Lenana Point, the summit for our trip
Tips?
Go now. It's a really good trip. We had a nice group of very different personalities but we worked really well together.
Local benefits?
I believe our trip benefitted the support staff in terms of employment, I think we were very diligent and many times saw our staff picking up litter around the route.
Overall rating?
Excellent. A great comparator trip to Kilimanjaro, less popular,... (more)Helen Bird
Memorable parts?
Reaching the Summit of Dome Des Ecrins at 08:40 on the Sunday morning after leaving the refuge at 04:00am!
Overall the experience was great, certainly recommend Bernard's excellent skills at both guiding and pushing you to reach above your goals
Tips?
Good boots that you know are essential, you'll be working them hard over different terrain, with and without crampons.
Stuff to eat while you're on the move or balanced on a snow-field - ideally softer the better - makes... (more)Rebecca Belton
Memorable parts?
The scramble up the side of "Le Grand Couloir": unforgettable.
Tips?
Get fit before going. Upper body strength is very useful for the scrambling sections.
Local benefits?
Yes. We used local guides and stayed in eco-friendly refuges whilst on the mountains.
Overall rating?
This was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding holidays I have ever been on. The training was thorough and to the point. The guides were knowledgeable
and friendly and the accommodation... (more)Anthony Harpur
Memorable parts?
I hate this question! The whole week was wonderful, and when the group was asked which walk they had enjoyed the most, everyone had the same trouble picking one! This was a walking trip geared towards fit experienced mountain walkers (warning for anyone thinking it is easy hiking in these Bulgarian mountains, read the blurb with care!), so the days were hard with steep climbs and long descents. The rewards were huge, amazing views, great biodiversity and a country that values... (more)Olive O
The whole trip was wonderful. I was passionate about wanting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and got 2 friends to agree and with the added incentive of raising money for a charity...Just do it! It is an experience and if you like trekking it is absolutely fantastic....would love to do it again. (more)Chetana Parmar
Some of the best experiences I am ever likely to have....
(more)Graeme Cooper
Great holiday - I was travelling alone and have not done much walking before so was a little worried - the guides, office and porters were really supportive. Route was stunning - really good - can't fault it. Thanks !!! (more)Adam Dearnley
Memorable parts?
The scenery was fantastic and some great days walking/climbing. The optional climb of Diablo Mudo towards the end was tougher than expected but very rewarding - don't miss it!
Tips?
It gets very cold at night so make sure you have a good down jacket and a very warm sleeping bag.
Local benefits?
Yes.
Overall rating?
Very good.
(more)Nicki Hoare
The experience of walking through these villages high up in the mountains where life revolves around nature and agriculture was incredible. I also really appreciated the way tour company’s staff went out of their way to make me feel welcomed, comfortable, and learn about Nepali life. (more)Kate Birbilis
Doing the final walk into Annapurna Base camp in the dark to see the mountains at dusk and then sunrise was most memorable...Very enjoyable and great to interact with the Nepalese people again - so friendly. (more)Tony Smith
Loads of great memories - the views, the people, the villages in the mountains - always with the constant backdrop of the snow covered peaks. (more)Marina Troughton
Memorable parts?
Reaching the summit of Mt Toubkal after leaving the base camp in the dark. By the top the sun was shining, the sky was blue with the snow glistening. The views and sense of achievement made the hard climb well worth it!
Tips?
If doing it in winter has a thermal tube for your water bladder as the tube freezes!
Local benefits?
We used local porters and mule riders and bought things from local co-operative shops so helped the community.

Climbing was the most memorable part. (more)Gunvor Leirbukt
Memorable: 1.Training in the stunning beautiful mountains - Trient Glacier.
2. The views on the climb up and down from Mont Blanc summit, including sunrise
Exciting - the scramble up to the Gouter Refuge. (more)John Hehir
I think the attempt to reach the summit of Mont Blanc and in spite not having made it due to bad weather conditions it was still nice to have been to the Dome de Gouter. Other moments were the stunning landscapes. (more)Peter Koopmans
Memorable parts?
There were many memorable moments which included extraordinary vistas such as the glacier melting into streams and then the lake, challenging hikes in
high altitudes, interesting meetings with local minority people, learning about different religions, customs and beliefs of the people.
Tips?
Some of the guides are dedicated and informative and others are less. There are at times unexpected changes with guides based on the area and population you’re visiting. The... (more)Debby Zweibach
Memorable parts?
Climbing Mount Vidran, the wildflowers in the Pirin and Rila Mountains, city tour of Sofia. Evening strolls in the village Govedartsi to soak up the atmosphere. Watching the cows being herded each evening into the village. Friendly Bulgarians. Good Bulgarian food and wine.
Tips?
Don't underestimate the fitness needed for the walks. Previous holidays, walks have been easier than grading suggested. Not here the grading is more accurate so the strenuous walks are... (more)Mike Wilkinson
