Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

This fantastic property has been designed to be eco-friendly throughout, including the use of solar generated electricity, allowing the property to take full advantage of the area’s ample days of sunshine to provide an environmentally friendly way of living. The property’s pool heating system is also generated by solar power, and the pool is salt-water pool, greatly reducing the number of harmful chemicals that can sometimes be found in non salt-water pools.

Low-energy lighting is used throughout and the property’s ideal location within a 10 minute walk to shops, restaurants and bars negates the need for car travel. If motor travel is necessary we encourage our guests to use public or group transport where possible and as part of our concierge service we can also provide hybrid car hire options should guests wish to venture further afield.

As part of our commitment to our customers we strive to do all that we can to ensure that your stay in one of our luxury villas will cause as minimal impact to the environment as possible. This commitment includes carrying out regular first-hand inspections on all of the properties on our portfolio and forming strong links with our destination partners and villa owners in order to encourage the use of environmentally friendly products such as low-energy and LED lighting, A+ class electrical appliances, blackout blinds to keep the villa cool and reduce the need for air-conditioning, the use of as few harmful chemicals in swimming pools as possible, and stringent recycling practices. Guests can rest assured that in the construction of the villa, where possible, the latest building technology available has been used to ensure that the most up-to-date lighting and insulation practices have been used, allowing for the property to stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter, again negating the need for air-conditioning, which although available in the bedrooms of the property, is encouraged to be used sparingly.

Upon arrival at this luxury villa you will receive a welcome information pack which will include advice on how to make your stay as environmentally friendly as possible. This pack will include information on limiting towel and linen changes, responsible use of air-conditioning and other utilities, responsible water usage and step-by-step advice on recycling using the bins provided locally.

As a company we believe environmental responsibility starts at home (and the work place of course). We encourage recycling of waste as a company and as individuals, we use as many energy saving products in the office as is feasible, and where possible for business use we use public transport. In addition to this, when producing and distributing pre-departure information documents to our customers we save valuable paper by sending these documents electronically as opposed to printing and posting.

People

Our commitment to the communities in which our villas are located is as strong as our commitment to the environment surrounding them. Upon arrival at the villa you will find a welcome information pack that not only provides information on enjoying your stay in the most environmentally friendly way possible, but also first-hand advice on how to enjoy your time in the area in the most conscientious manner possible. This includes advice on the best locally-owned restaurants, bars, boutique shops and convenience stores, allowing you to help ensure that the proceeds of tourism in the area are filtered through directly to the local residents of Mallorca. We encourage our guests to shop locally, and provide information on the best places to find locally-sourced fruit and vegetables, including markets and local wine merchants. Your welcome food package which is included in your property rental will have been sourced from locally owned convenience stores as opposed to large chain stores.

Our team of dedicated and experienced destination experts make it their priority to have an extensive knowledge of the areas in which our luxury villa rentals are found. We ensure that all information provided is beneficial to the local communities and we can provide insights on the cultural etiquette of the area and traditions which should be observed whilst visiting, along with advice on where to buy souvenirs and goods (to ensure the proceeds are going directly to the vendors).

As part of our commitment to the local communities we solely use the services of local management companies who employ local residents and offer excellent employment opportunities in the area. This commitment extends to ensuring that the owner’s of our villas solely use local residents for all maintenance, gardening pool cleaning and maid services. Furthermore, as part of our concierge service, we have built up tremendous relationships with a wide variety of local service providers including local water-sports companies, local nanny services, local transport companies and local entertainment providers. Where possible, we only use local providers and avoid large conglomerates, ensuring that all proceeds from these services are filtered through directly to the local communities.
