Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

CARBON REDUCTION

We organize activities using local transportation, not big buses, but local pickups that contribute to carbon reduction and local economy.

For meals not included on our itinerary we eagerly encourage participants to explore local dining options, where also can find vegetarian restaurants. Abundant restaurants offer diverse, authentic dishes at affordable prices, enabling travelers to savor exciting cuisines while supporting local businesses.

ENVIRONMENT WILDLIFE

Our 7 day Galapagos Experience program offers visits guided by naturalist guides to specific areas where they will learn about wildlife protection and follow the guidelines established by local organizations such as the Charles Darwin Station where they will see the projects taking place to protect tortoise colonies and how breeding centres work.

Our programs prioritize environmental consciousness through a comprehensive orientation session, providing vital information to enhance your tour experience. We inform participants about ongoing conservation efforts led by the Galapagos National Park, instilling a sense of collective responsibility among visitors. Stressing the importance of avoiding plastic bottles, informing about our policies of consuming organic food on our trips and how it helps mitigate the risk of introducing invasive plants, thereby contributing to the preservation of the island's unique ecosystem.

We include visits to local markets where travelers learn about local agriculture and how sustainable trips contribute to responsible consumption and production.

Our visitors are empowered to play an active role in safeguarding the environment, guided by our commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism practices.

LOCAL ECONOMY

We generate jobs by hiring local guides, and host families and offer assistance with their progress in the tourism industry.

#In ecologically sensitive areas like the Galapagos, it is crucial for travelers to actively minimize their environmental footprint through waste reduction and recycling. Our Local Guides men and women, play a pivotal role in educating travelers about the severe consequences of littering on the local environment, highlighting its adverse impact. Guides effectively convey the participants' influence, creating awareness about responsible tourism practices.

EMPLOYMENT

97% of our local staff is Ecuadorian.

We try to give most of our revenue back to community-oriented projects such as family-run hostels, rather than large multinational tourism corporations.

Our commitment to community involvement is exemplified in the tangible benefits our programs bring to local residents. Our partners are employees 50% men and women and we are LGBT and open and promote inclusion in our activities.

Opting for our programs means not only providing financial support to these communities but also immersing yourself in their lives, and gaining firsthand knowledge of their challenges.
