Kayaking holiday in Montenegro

Description of Kayaking holiday in Montenegro
Relaxed, peaceful and oh so scenic, sea kayaking may be the finest way to discover the Bay of Kotor, ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’. This kayaking holiday in Montenegro explores one of Europe’s most magnificent coastlines at a sedate pace, as you paddle along in a friendly small group, led by an experienced local guide. There will be frequent pauses to swim, snorkel or sunbathe on pristine beaches, well away from the most touristy areas of this popular destination.
You needn’t be a proficient paddler to join this kayaking holiday in Montenegro – all levels are welcome and the emphasis is very much on the ‘holiday’, so your group will be moving at an easy-going pace. It’s all about soaking up the spectacular scenery, and relishing views of this idyllic coast that most people never see.
Staying every evening in family-owned hotels or apartments, your group will take day trips out to charming little villages, around islands such as St. George or Our Lady of the Rocks, to picturesque beaches fragrant with laurel bushes, and to Lake Skadar, which is among Europe’s most renowned bird-watching destinations. On day five you’ll spend a few hours in Sveti Stasije, which many consider the most picturesque place in all Kotor, and yet even in high season still has an aura of calm and beauty.
You’ll get plenty of good exercise over the course of a week’s kayaking in the Bay Kotor, but ultimately this trip is all about experiencing Montenegro’s glorious coastal landscapes, its culture and, of course, its seafood cuisine, at a gentle pace. Naturally a visit to the old town of Kotor will be a highlight, but a lot of your time will be spent on the water, well away from any crowds, and mooring up in areas that see relatively few tourists, and where just purchasing lunch and a bottle of wine in a tavern can make a big difference. Expect to return home thoroughly relaxed.

Our best day was our longest day kayaking on Kotor bay. The sea was as calm as a mill pond and the scenery was absolutely stunning. Toni took us to various islands and it was a really fantastic day. Read full reviewResponsible Travel
Planet
Kayaking tour includes UNESCO protected Town of Kotor and Kotor Bay area and National Park Skadar Lake. Each of them features unique environments and rich ecological values, which require corresponding attitude from visitors. . Paddling together with our local guides and companies we will continue to support local community in effort to keep their natural beauty free of all pollution and generate enough income from sustainable tourism. By including the opportunity to visit the National Park on this holiday we choose to contribute to the excellent record of conservation in recent years through the entrance fees.As a company we employ responsible policies such as recycling paper, ink cartridges, glass and cardboard; we minimize the use of electricity and conducting the vast majority of our correspondence and promotion via the internet and email, minimizing the amount of paper used for our activities.
All of our guides are aware of their surrounding and they are constantly providing the travelers with suggestions of how to minimize potential negative impacts to the environment and marine ecosystems. Our guides emphasize on the importance of leaving the environment as it is. We observe marine life but we do not disturb it.
Our sea kayaks are made of recyclable plastic. They do not cause any form of air or water pollution and they do not produce noise that could be disturbing for marine life.
On our trips paddling produces no carbon footprint and also slows your pace down so you take in more of the nature that surrounds you.
We encourage our guests to use re-fill able water bottles, since tab water is drinkable in Montenegro.

Our tours ensures that the local people benefit as much as possible in the form of jobs (we employ local guides and drivers, we use family owned hotel or apartments), and most of all minimizes the negative environmental impacts. We use local transfer services, buy food from the small farms and local fishermans and work on developing responsible tourism management in our region. We closely cooperate with local cultural institutions and we point our visitors towards local cultural festivals (Kotor Art Festival ,
Don Branko music days) and similar manifestations.
We suggest to our travelers visits to historically, culturally and environmentally important sights (Old Town of Kotor ,
Villages Muo , Prcanj Stoliv , Town of Perast )
Our agency is included in program which employ young people who have just finished college . This program is organized by Montenegrin Government in order to provide first practice experience and getting skills which one should have to be able to work in tourism.
We participate in local project of Preservation and valuation Vrmac hill , above Kotor. An aim of this project is to promote all advantages of this area and at same time to protect nature and wildlife.
