Description of Thailand family adventure holiday
This family adventure through Thailand has been designed for children of eight years and upwards. The trip is an ideal introduction to Thailand or to show your children a country you have traveled to before and loved. You will start in Bangkok to get acclimatized and to explore the sights with an innovative excursion that makes use of the city's modes of public transport. Bangkok is also an amazing place to sample Thailand's famous cuisine before getting more adventurous later in your trip. Next stop is Kanchanaburi for an informative history lesson and encounters with the Asian elephant, giving insight into Thailand's incredible wildlife. You will then hop on the overnight sleeper train to Chiang Mai to spend a few days exploring the city, as well as spending time with a local Thai family. Finish with a few days of relaxation at the beach before returning home.

Responsible Travel
Planet
We have tried to ensure that all elements of the itinerary take responsible tourism practices into consideration. The itinerary promotes natural experiences such as staying in a tented camp on the banks of the River Kwai which is run by local people. The hotel we have recommended on the beach does what it can to avoid impacting the local environment, such as packaging and storing toiletries in re-usable wooden containers rather than single use packaging.
All the excursions have been chosen with the intention of educating the visitor to the responsible tourism side of Thailand as well as providing a wealth of unforgettable experiences. The time spend around the River Kwai and with the famous elephants of Thailand educates guests on the importance of conservation. The project is largely volunteer run and created with the mantra that the humans work for the elephants.
We have encouraged overland transfers where possible. As well as working well from a responsible perspective we also believe this will allow you to experience Thailand from a more direct perspective. We've also encouraged the use of re-usable water bottles in lieu of plastic.
People
We encourage the use of smaller locally owned properties who employ locals from the surrounding areas. The majority of staff at all hotels are local people, and the vast majority of the guides and drivers used in the itinerary are local. This allows travelers to see the best of Thailand such as local restaurants and shops that source locally made goods. The local family that you will meet in Chiang Mai has been working with us for years to introduce travelers to authentic Thai life and customs, giving insight without disturbing the community.
All travelers are encouraged to learn about and absorb local culture and to be respectful to the community through the information given during the planning and pre-trip process. All the partners we've chosen to work with have been selected with a focus on sustainable and non exploitative practices including fair and ethical treatment of staff. Guides are encouraged to excellence through yearly guide awards and frequent feedback and training.
