Complete tour of New Zealand
Description of Complete tour of New Zealand
This trip can be tailor made throughout the year to suit your requirements
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetWherever possible we include methods of low carbon travel in our itineraries. On this tour, travellers can electro bike along the traffic free cycle path out of Queenstown to Jacks’ Point, and take the magnificent TranzAlpine Express train across the Southern Alps.
Travellers have the opportunity to visit the wildlife sanctuary of Tiritiri Matangi where most of New Zealand’s endemic birds species can be found, and guides will share their knowledge of the unique environment they live in there.
Travellers are also encouraged to stop off at the Waipoua Forest between Auckland and the bay of Islands to meet the ‘Lord of the Forest’ Tane Mahuta – the largest Kauri Tree in the world.
For every booking taken we make a donation on our travellers behalf to New Zealand’s unique Trees for Travellers Project. The project is based in Kaikoura , and is re-foresting a local reserve with native trees. www.treesfortravellers.co.nz.
PeopleAll of our itineraries, whether tailor made or our Small Group Journeys, are strongly focused on ensuring support for local communities and educating our travellers on the importance of responsible travel.
On our ‘complete tour of New Zealand’ travellers overnight in small guesthouses and Bed and Breakfasts, and we encourage people to visit local independent attractions. Not to be missed is a visit to Cinema Paradiso in Wanaka where seating options include a classic Morris Minor!
We always include our favourite tips and recommendations for our favourite independently owned cafes., restaurants and shops and galleries. As part of this tour, Tea at the Lady Rosewood Garden in Wellingtons Botanic gardens is a lovely treat, and a day trip out to Akaroa, with its selection of lovely little coffee shops and artists galleries is recommended too.
Our itineraries have a strong focus on the history and customs of the Maori, as we recognise and appreciate the cultural significance of the Maori people in New Zealand. On this trip guest will enjoy a Maori cultural experience, and a traditional Maori Hangi as an evening meal.
