Responsible tourism

Responsible tourism: Cuzco, Machu Picchu and the Amazon tour

Environment

Buildings: We build, restore and equip using carefully sourced local materials and in a style that tells the cultural or geological story of the landscape. In this trip to Peru and its Highlites, our company makes sure to follow the rules that are placed for this ancient geological and archeological sites. The places that people will visit have been well preserved and maintained for thousands of years so naturally all our guides and our guests are well informed and know how to promote the sustainable future of these places. one clear example of this is how people are not allowed to destroy or take small rocks from places such as the Cuzco. We always make sure to explain this and keep an eye to all the people that travel with us to these destinations.

Suppliers: We choose suppliers that match our environmental values. Our suppliers that help us with transportation and other arrangements are people that have experience and match our beliefs on how we have to sustain the environment. In the end, if we do not take care of the sites that people visit, then there cannot be a future for these places and for the tourism industry. That is the main reason why the people that work with us are very concerned on how to preserve and sustain the environment. Before approving any supplier that is going to work with us, we always follow a procedure in which we carefully consider many aspects such as price, quality of service but one of the most important aspects is that they match our principles and ideals.

Community

Friends & neighbours, We know where to find all things local and we support/ recommend our neighbours, spreading tourism income to those most in need
The people that work with us in Peru are local people that know how and where to find all things local. We support and promote the use of local restaurants and hiring local people to the hotels that we use as well as for the activities of our tours. In this way, tourism becomes one of the main sources of development in the Island and that is how with every traveller we contribute to this unique place in the world. Apart from this, we also offer the opportunity for people to interact with locals making a very interesting exchange of cultures and experiences.

Local crafts and culture We sustain jobs and cultural diversity by supporting local craft makers and artisans and promoting cultural attractions. Our tour to Peru is essentially focused on supporting the places that people are visiting. The handicrafts and souvenirs serve as the main instruments to demonstrate this support. Our guides and the people that meet our passengers always encourage them to support the community by purchasing something. It might not be something too expensive but in that way, it at least creates a culture of supporting the country where you visit and that in a large scale can certainly make a difference.
