Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

Internally our partners encourage the reusing, recycling and generally do their best to reduce the overall impact our operation has on the environment. This trip heads to some of the most remote and wild national parks in Costa Rica and therefore it is crucial that the destinations we visit are left as we found them. Included in the welcome packet that we give to our clients, we also include brochures with environmental information to advise travelers to reduce impact.
Our colleagues participate in the Certificate in Sustainable Tourism (CST) program which rates businesses on the degree to which they comply with a sustainable model of natural, cultural and social resource management.
This trip takes you to Nicuesa Lodge which is an entirely eco-friendly resort, which allows clients to connect to the natural world of the rainforest and ocean through education and activities.
Office Practices:
Our Environmental office practices consist in reducing the use of electricity, and incorporating all technology available to avoid any unnecessary consumption. We print on both sides of paper and toner inks used are given to Grupo Ecologico. We don’t use air conditioning or fans and open doors and windows to maximize energy.
The Impacts of this Trip
We work with our local tour agents and focus on delivering unique services while supporting sustainable practices. This includes giving our client (s) the opportunity to interact with local people and communities
Our guests are encouraged to use and buy from local services and products whenever possible. We employ local guides from National Parks. Our guides purchase client's groceries from local markets. We use accommodation that are also certificated with the certification for sustainable tourism so we guarantee they have the same standards and principals.
Our local partners also actively support a variety of philanthropic projects including the support of local schools, running its own reforestation project, encouraging and financing small local businesses as well as other well know programmes run by local foundations.
Sustainable tourism consists of providing direct and/or indirect benefits to the communities that are visited. Whenever it is possible, this is done through sustainable activities that protect the environment and the participation in social projects that help local communities and protected areas, always providing a high quality service.
