Description of Nepal activity holiday

This active small group adventure combines pulse-quickening activities with a chance to explore ancient cities and traditional villages amid Himalayan vistas of soaring peaks and beautiful lakes.

You'll get to discover the Kathmandu Valley on a mountain bike, riding superb dirt trails through exotic hills and woods. You'll also get a chance to experience stunning aerial views of the Himalayas paragliding with expert fliers in control as you share airspace with Himalayan griffin vulture, eagles and kites, while drifting over exotic villages, monasteries, temples and lakes framed by magical peaks.

From a resort base in Nagarkot, hop on the mountain bikes again to roam traditional villages and farm terraces, plus atmospheric pine and Rhododendron forest. You'll also go rafting from Pokhara, whooshing down the Trisuli River through grade 2-3 rapids.

There's trekking too, with a fabulous forest walk to the Australian Camp at the foot of the iconic mountain, Annapurna where you'll stay at a traditional tea house with stupendous views of the Machhapuchare range.

Cultural explorations include sightseeing in Kathmandu plus the lovely lakeside city of Pokhara and wood-carving mecca of Bhaktapur. There's also a visit to Namobudha the sacred Buddhist spot where Lord Buddha reputedly saved the life of starving tiger by sharing his own flesh.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

We are acutely aware of the environmental issue in all our trips and try our best to minimize the impacted things and harmful activities on nature. Our guide will give a briefing about Responsible Tourism and how to best minimize the impact on nature, for example: Dispose of all waste in a rubbish pit, purify drinking water, proper litter removal, using kerosene fuel for cooking rather than fire-wood, use of local tea houses/ local camping sites.

There is the option pay a small extra amount to Porters to bring back non disposable things by duffel. Avoid bathing or washing clothes in streams, etc.

On this tour we explore Kathmandu Valley on a mountain bike. Mountain biking offers an environmentally sound way of exploring this magnificent country. Our activities such as paragliding pose minimum harm to the environment (and are low carbon).

Tourism has great capacity to generate income for local community. For example on this trip by purchasing local products such as fresh fruits, handloom products, meat, drinks, and fresh vegetables and providing job opportunities etc. as well as by staying in local hotels, guest houses and lodges.

There is opportunity to support local school, for example by donating some amount and educational materials to kids

We use local men-power in the trip such as local tour/ trekking guide. Hire Local transport. It provides great opportunity for the local inhabitants to enhance their carrier & develop the community. We use well-trained and experienced local guides for this trip. We hire local porters with equipped clothes as per the types of trekking. Loads carried will be limited to 20-25 kg. All field staffs will be travelling insured.

We always encourage local people to preserve their local culture and tradition by providing donation and other technical assistance as per the availability for the continuation of their culture and indigenous knowledge. Thus, people can enjoy the differences with in the community for the long term.
