Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
Environment has always been our major concern. We try our best to implement the policy of environmental conservation on every service and tour.We have decided that the environment is a major component of any local community and any negative effect on the environment would directly have an impact on the lives of the inhabitants of the local community. Therefore, we have drawn up a strict environmental protection policy that all our employees and travelers have to abide by. For example:
- we recycle empty ink cartridges. A company collects them and disposes of them the correct manner.
- pay a small extra amount to Porters to bring back non disposable things by duffel. Avoid bathing or washing clothes in streams, etc.
- explanations are given during any trekking tours of how to conserve scarce fuel resources, as well as reducing litter & waste production (for example by not ordering numerous different items from trekking lodge menus, and by treating water rather than buying numerous mineral water bottles).
On this tour we stay with local tea houses/ lodges, operated by local communities in the hilly regions which minimize impact on the environment by using kerosene/gas fuel instead of fire wood, and managing garbage properly.
People
Our Company operates as such that the journeys ensure benefits to the local people and their surrounding as much as possible and any potential negative impacts at the destinations are minimized. We are dedicated to giving something back to the local community. We understand and appreciate the hard work the guides and porters perform and we only use well-trained and experienced local guides for this trip. We hire local porters with equipped clothes as per the types of trekking. Loads carried will be limited to 20-25 kg. All field staffs will be travelling insured.
All our staff are from local communities. Our guides are English speaking and have years of experience as they live locally. Each guide comes fully equipped and supported by us, having obtained the training in the related tourism sectors including Nepal Tourism Council and Guide Association of Nepal.
We try our best to buy all local products which are healthy and also its benefited to locals around this tour.
We also try our best to use their accommodation so that we can contribute a little to them where they can meet their daily needs. You will also be staying with local tea houses/lodges operated by local communities in the hilly region.
