Description of Athens and Paros holiday, tailor made
The Cyclades, an archipelago in the Aegean Sea, are some of the most beautiful islands in the world, and they are also an immensely interesting cultural destination. This eight-day Athens and Paros holiday is a sublime way to soak up the charms of the Cyclades, as well as to enjoy an enthralling tour of the Greek capital led by a knowledgeable and engaging local guide.
After a couple of days on the mainland, during which you’ll visit the key sites around Athens, admire the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, and tuck into a traditional Greek meal, you’ll take the ferry across to Paros. Famed for its beaches, as well as thriving nightlife, and scented with jasmine and bougainvillea, Paros will be your base for the rest of the week. You’ll stay in a locally owned hotel that places a strong emphasis on environmental protection, while also offering guests a warm welcome.
Each day you’ll embark on fun boat excursions to nearby islands including Antiparos, Santorini and Mykonos, with ample time to walk around and get a feel for their beaches and archaeological sites, or to join guided bus tours. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to taste delectable Greek cuisine. While the holiday feels pleasantly relaxed throughout, it will leave you with a deep impression of these most scenic of islands.
