CARBON REDUCTIONOur Gourmet Alpine Walking Holiday combines walking with local gastronomy, allowing you to explore the Southern French Alps at a slower pace while minimising your environmental impact. Much of the holiday is spent on foot, reducing the need for motorised transport and encouraging a deeper connection with the landscape.
We encourage guests to travel by train and can help organise onward transfers from local stations. As a Travelife Certified tour operator, we measure the carbon footprint of our holidays using Carmacal and contribute to Mossy Earth rewilding projects on behalf of every guest. We also reduce paper use by providing travel information digitally through our smartphone app.
ENVIRONMENT & WILDLIFE
Walking through the Ιcrins National Park and surrounding alpine valleys offers the opportunity to discover a remarkable variety of landscapes, wildflowers and wildlife. Our guides help guests understand the area's natural heritage while encouraging responsible behaviour, including following marked paths where appropriate, respecting wildlife and leaving no trace.
By travelling on foot and using existing mountain trails, we aim to minimise our impact while helping guests appreciate the importance of protecting these fragile alpine environments.

LOCAL ECONOMYSupporting local communities is at the heart of this holiday. Along the route, you'll stay in independent accommodation, dine in family-run restaurants and mountain refuges, and sample regional specialities produced by local farmers, cheesemakers and artisans. Your visit directly contributes to the local economy and helps sustain traditional businesses in the mountain villages we pass through.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY & DIVERSITY
The holiday is led by experienced local walking guides who share their knowledge of the region's landscapes, history, culture and culinary traditions. By working with local accommodation providers, restaurants and food producers, we help support skilled employment and preserve the traditions that make the Southern French Alps such a unique destination.
