1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

There were so many memorable activities during our Türkiye trip, but special mention goes to wonderful hiking on the Lycian Way and in Cappadocia, as well as the ballooning trip, of course. Visits to wonderful Museums and Mosques were also really fascinating.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Speak to the tour operator about finding the less travelled and more hidden adventures and activities.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We certainly did: we were with local guides, local drivers, and we participated in many very local and authentic activities and events, largely thanks to the tour operator and our guides for having the knowledge to arrange it for us.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Very highly rated. It was excellent in all ways.

CARBON REDUCTION

- They will be taking an overnight train which is the most enveriomental friendly option.

- We use public transportation during the tour of Istanbul on Day 2, instead of a private vehicle, to reduce impact.

- On our trips, there are vegetarian and vegan options for each day. Our tour guides will have amazing suggestions for our guests.

- We only visit locally owned restaurants, which serve meals cooked with seasonal vegetables.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

- At the start of each day, our tour guides talk through the impact of the travel day and share some practical tips to tackle the challenges.

- All our guests will receive a cloth tote bag at the start of the trip. This will help them to avoid the usage of plastic bags.

LOCAL ECONOMY

- We only work with locally owned service providers such as hotels, transportation companies, restaurants etc.

- We audit our service providers annually on their employment contracts, to make sure that they employ their staff legally and pay them at least minimum wages.

- On each trip, we have at least one community based activity included, to support the local economy of the region that we travel to.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY

- In Cappadocia, we have Homecooked lunch in Ürgüp in a small village with a local family. Lunch will be cooked by the ladies who are from this cute village, try to get to learn some cooking tips from the masters!

- On day 3 in Cappadocia, we have wine tasting session included. Sample the best local wine in the middle of a valley! Your host will be a young female entrepreneur who has set her own business couple of years ago with her husband, don't miss to listen to her story!

- We only employ locals to our ground operations team (tour leaders) and office team. All our staff members are Turkish.

- We pay legal wages to all our emplyes, cover their social security and give all the legal HR benefits. We also have 3 full timer tour guide, which is not a standard business practise in Turkish tourism. This helps our tour guides to be a part of our Travel community, their social security is covered by our company and all their employment paperwork is looked after by our local finance team.

- We seek for suppliers which are female owned at all times and try to create a gender equality on our supplier chain.

- This trip is suitable for people who has limited mobility. We are able to provide a suitable vehicle.

- We have a person employed in our team as 'Sustainability Officer' who runs trainings on sustainability at the end of each quarter, including tour guides.
