For guests joining the tour from the UK or Europe, it is also possible to travel to the Lake District by train, enabling you to leave the car at home and further reduce harmful emissions. The strong conservation focus of all service providers in the Lake District is influenced by the National Park being awarded UNESCO World Heritage status in 2017. As well as the commitment by restaurants and cafes we recommend to using locally sourced ingredients, you can access a great choice of vegetarian and vegan options in the main centres of Windermere, Ambleside and Keswick.
