Reviews
1 Reviews of Three Capes walking holiday in Tasmania
5 out of 5 stars
Reviewed on 05 Mar 2026 by Jeff Harris
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The views of the rugged Tasmanian coast, views that were only available from the sites we walked miles to.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Train hard for these walks, by walking lots of stairs. The first walk had 4,000 stairs over 6 miles. No technical climbing skills were needed, but strong legs and hearts were.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Somewhat. We ate and stayed with local businesses.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
I really enjoyed the beauty of the walks. The food and lodging at Stewarts Bay Lodge were first-rate.
Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

CARBON REDUCTIONThis 5-day walking holiday naturally has a lower carbon footprint because you'll spend most of your time exploring on foot.
On Tasmania's stunning Three Capes Track, we believe in leading by example to protect its dramatic clifftops and pristine wilderness. Our aim is to do more than just guide you through this world-class scenery; we want to help you become an environmental champion. As you walk with us, you'll not only create incredible memories and capture stunning photos of Cape Hauy, Cape Pillar, and Cape Raoul, but you'll also develop a profound connection to Tasmania's unique coastal ecosystem.
Our commitment to responsible tourism is reflected in our strict Track Standards: we always stick to designated paths to protect fragile vegetation, leave no trace by ensuring all rubbish comes out with us, and even actively collect litter left by others. Above all, we respect the wilderness to maintain the delicate balance that defines the Tasman Peninsula's extraordinary beauty, ensuring it remains unspoiled for future generations.
We observe wildlife from a respectful distance and never feed native animals. We avoid lighting fires in natural areas and prohibit smoking during walks. Our guiding principle is: “Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but photos—and a piece of someone else’s rubbish.”
We contribute financially to the Friends of Tasman National Park, supporting their regeneration efforts in the Three Capes Walk region.
People
We believe your walking holiday should be more than just a trek; it should be a deep dive into the heart of the region. That's why we weave quality local tourism experiences into every itinerary. Imagine learning about native plants on a bush tucker walk with Indigenous people, exploring historic lightstation precincts, or enjoying serene lake or river cruises. For example, you can visit the iconic Port Arthur Historic Site and even join a local for a tour of its historic lighthouse tower.Your journey with us isn't just a vacation; it's a meaningful contribution to the heartland. By venturing beyond major tourist areas, you directly support the rural communities that depend on thoughtful tourism to thrive. This helps sustain their local economies, businesses, and the authentic way of life.
We're committed to empowering local communities. We strongly encourage our operators to prioritize local employment, especially when hiring guides who offer genuine, insightful perspectives. We also actively partner with businesses that champion sustainable local practices. This includes supporting those involved in organic food farming, creating local arts and crafts, and running restaurants—especially those dedicated to eco-tourism development in their region.
