Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

CARBON REDUCTIONThere are no flights on this tour. The group never exceeds 12 guests, and all scheduled transfers and excursions are in one shared minibus, with the car ferry for the crossing to Gozo.
Most sightseeing is on foot. We have private walking tours in Valletta, Mdina and the Three Cities, and we cross the Grand Harbour in traditional dghajsa boats. We spend all seven nights in the same Valletta hotel, so there are no hotel changes.
Vegetarian options are available every day, and we can cater for vegans and other dietary needs if you tell us in advance.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
In Valletta we stay in a restored 17th-century baroque palace.
Entrance fees for every site and museum on the itinerary are included. Many of the sites we visit are run by Heritage Malta, the national heritage agency, whose Conservation Division restores stone, paintings, metals, ceramics, textiles and paper. Tap water is offered at every meal. The tour is led by Maltese guides and professional archaeologists, and the group size keeps numbers low at the sites we visit.

LOCAL ECONOMYThe tour is led by local guides and archaeologists, and our walking tours are led by local guides. We eat in local restaurants, including harbourside and village restaurants. [Add winery or family-run business details only if they are on the Malta itinerary. The combined tour’s Day 6 winery lunch is optional.]
The tour runs [dates], outside the peak summer months.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
Everyone employed for this tour is based in Malta, including guides, archaeologists, drivers, hoteliers and restaurant staff. At least 80% come from the local communities where they work. All are paid above the rates set by law or by collective agreement in Malta.
This tour is LGBTQ+ friendly. It is also physically active, with stairs, uneven pavement, hills and up to three hours on your feet at a time, and we tell guests this before they book. Guests with access needs should contact us before booking, and where possible we adapt the day within each site’s rules and safety requirements.
