It was amazing in Wadi rum to sleep in the desert in secure tents watching the sun go down then get up the next morning to watch it come up very magical. You see a lot of Jordan lovely people always helpful. (more)Barbara Hayers
But there were so many other memorable moments such as the meals out in the desert, floating in the Dead Sea, visiting Mount Nebo. Petra itself is vast and two days is just enough time to get a sense of the place and see the main sights.

Hard to pick out high points of this holiday because there were no low points. Even the brief and brutal thunderstorms on two occasions did not dampen the spirits (and only dampened cycling kit for a short while). Memorable parts?
It was absolutely fantastic to be able to visit so many places from the sea, going into small harbours and tying up among local fishing boats. Most visitors explore the Peloponnese by bus which involves long periods of travel, but we were never moored more than 30 minutes away from anything. The itinerary was well paced with a good mix of site visits, travel along the amazingly scenic coastline, and interesting talks about Greece, its history, customs and anything we wanted... So many to choose from but Petra by candlelight, swimming in the dead sea and snorkling in the red sea are the ones that come to mind first.
Tips?
Make sure to take advantage of snorkling in the dead sea, do the hike to the high sacrifice place in Petra where you will be rewarded with an amazing view of the treasury and maybe add an extra day or so to your holiday to do some of your own exploring in downtown Amman (and have dinner at hashem's - a remarkably down-to-earth...
